Travis Mills

Partner, CBU Benefits

Retired United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills of the 82nd Airborne is a recalibrated warrior, motivational speaker, actor, author and advocate for military veterans and amputees. He lives by his motto, “Never give up, never quit.”

As a father of two children, Travis knows the importance of protecting his family. This is a major reason why he is so passionate about supplemental insurance and is proud to be part owner of the company. Travis is proud to share the story about his past because he hopes to raise awareness about the value of supplemental insurance and help people understand that unexpected events can happen anywhere and any time, not just on the battlefield.

On April 10, 2012, Travis was critically injured while on a routine patrol during his third tour of duty in Afghanistan when an IED (improvised explosive device) detonated under him. Travis lost portions of both legs and both arms, but thanks to his amazing strength, courage, and incredible will to live, plus the heroic actions of the men in his unit and the health care providers at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center near Washington D.C., Travis continues to overcome life’s challenges, breaking physical barriers and defying odds. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive his injuries.

Travis wrote the New York Times bestselling memoir Tough as They Come, which is set to become a major motion picture directed by Sylvester Stallone. His story has been featured on local and national news, including Fox News’ Happening Now with Jenna Lee, The O’Reilly Factor with Bill O’Reilly, and Ellen with Ellen DeGeneres.

Raymond Vallee, Jr.

Partner, CBU Benefits

Raymond L. Vallee Jr. is the President of Combined Benefits United, the former parent company of CBU Benefits, a graduate of Hall Dale High School, and attended Merrimack College.

Ray founded Combined Benefits United as a field marketing organization representing a short list of insurance carriers. Over the past 15 years, CBU has grown to represent over 150 insurance carriers, doing business in 35 states with contracted insurance professionals across the country. During this time, Ray has become recognized on a national level for his commitment to detail, and for providing top investment products to advisors and consumers. In 2016, the supplemental health division of Combined Benefits United was spun off into its own company, CBU Benefits.

Ray’s values encompass the way he does business. He comments, “When an individual comes to us for guidance, we will inspire them to reach personal and professional goals they have never dreamed possible. The bottom line is, at CBU we inspire people to greatness.”

Ray resides in Hallowell, Maine and is a member of the local YMCA. He is a former Board Member of the Augusta Little League and Augusta Babe Ruth League, along with having coached at the Jr. Varsity and Varsity Levels at Cony High School. Ray is an annual qualifier of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table, a current member of the National Association of Fixed Annuities, National Association of Insurance Advisors, and a Member of the Advisory Board for Washington National Insurance Company.

Brian Heath

Managing Partner, CBU Benefits

Brian P. Heath is a native of Maine and a graduate of Cony High School. He has been an active member in the community with the Augusta Kiwanis Chapter, Hope Group in Hallowell, and is co-founder of the Augusta’s KVBC Networking Group. Brian is also a former varsity basketball coach for the Oak Grove Coburn School as well as at Cony High School. As a member of the Cynergy Mentoring program, Brian works regularly with students at the local High School to expand their horizons and provide them a link to the world of business.

For thirty years, Brian has worked as a sales consultant with business owners throughout Maine. Having come from a major account rep position in the business equipment industry, Brian is the Managing Partner of CBU Benefits, formerly the supplemental division of Combined Benefits United.

Brian brings his consultative approach and years of experience with doing business in Maine to CBU Benefits. His ability to listen to client objectives and goals and to provide the right solutions are apparent in his everyday business dealings. His success has led him to be a top producer, featured agent, and advisory board member with Washington National Insurance Company.

Michael Judge

Regional Vice President, Washington National Insurance Company

Michael entered the Marine Corps in 1978 as a Reservist with Headquarters Bn, 4th Marine Division. He accepted active duty orders to Prior Service Recruiting for a 13 year ‘tour of duty’. Retired in June of 2004 as a Master Sergeant, he moved back to Indianapolis with his wife, Marianne, sons: Benjamin and Alexander and daughter Lauren. Michael has a degree in business administration from Liberty University and the Insurance Institute of American with a designation in Risk Management. Michael and Marianne are members of College Park Church, Carmel, Indiana where he serves as a counselor and for the last two years also serves as a hospice vigil volunteer and a “We Honor Veterans” council member. He is in his 14th year at Washington National Insurance as a sales director for employee benefits and direct sales distribution helping agents and agencies to recruit, train, motivate and sell.

TJ Hannon

President, New England Enrollment Strategies

TJ Hannon is President of New England Enrollment Strategies, and General Agent for the largest Colonial Life office in the country. Their firm is highly specialized in that all that they do is work with brokers to put together well thought out and successful voluntary benefit programs for brokers and their customers. The do so with the goal to help brokers bring more value to their customers thus helping their broker partners build a better, stronger, and more profitable business.

Their Brokerage General Agency services over 1,200 voluntary benefit clients ranging in size from 3 employees to over 75,000 employees. They have a unique focus in the mid-large case market to include 2 state governments, over 100 cities and towns, as well as some of the largest and most well-known employers in the region. They proudly have over 150,000 policies under management and distribute through a customer base of over 200 Broker Partners throughout New England. TJ manages a team of 55 Benefit Representatives. This includes 10 Service Support Specialists, 27 Benefit Counselors, and 18 Account Executives.

Susan Young

Senior Territory Manager, GarityAdvantage Agencies

Susan has been with GarityAdvantage Agencies for over 6 years and brings more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience to her role as Senior Territory Manager. She has sold Beta Software and loyalty marketing programs for a division of News America Marketing, and opened a Premium Wine Division for Geerlings and Wade, selling Bordeaux futures, which was later sold to 1-800-FLOWERS. Six years ago, with no knowledge of insurance other than personal products she bought, she decided to get into the Life and Health insurance business.

When Susan started at GarityAdvantage, she had fewer than 100 agents to work with and after demonstrating unparalleled follow-up skills, currently works with many hundreds of agents across the U.S. In her first year with GarityAdvantage, she helped the FMO double their sales and it’s been upward growth ever since.

Customer focus, persistence in “landing the big one,” and consistent follow-up are three of Susan’s trademark characteristics.

Susan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Boston College, lives in a small coastal town in Massachusetts with her family and black Lab, is a huge Red Sox fan and as an oenophile, would love to “talk wine” with you!

Kevin Frisbie

President, Frisbie & Associates

Kevin Frisbie is the Founder and President of Frisbie & Associates, a comprehensive financial services firm with locations in Lewiston, Brewer, and Rumford, Maine. He and his team address virtually every personal insurance need an individual, business, or family may have throughout the entire course of their lives.

A true ambassador for Combined Benefits United, Kevin has taken the company’s developed systems and used them to grown his practice to incredible heights in only a few short years – In 2017 alone, he produced over $17 Million in Annuities, paired alongside a rapidly growing AUM portfolio.

Kevin presents informational workshops on a variety of topics, including Asset Preservation, Social Security Planning, Long Term Care, and more. A motivational speaker who has been asked to speak at many events throughout the country, Kevin is also a radio host, and appears weekly as the voice of Maine’s Financial Safari Radio Show.

Kevin was born and raised in Rumford, Maine. He resides in Lewiston with his wife Erika, who oversees the operations of their property management company. They greatly enjoy traveling with their son Mitchel as well as supporting a number of local charitable organizations.
